If
you are interested in Laser Vision correction,
your first step is to come in for a FREE
consultation.

Many patients have chosen Weston Laser & Vision Institute for their lasik eye surgery needs. Should you feel unsure about what to expect from your visit and procedure, please read below to learn more about what Fort Lauderdale
/ Miami lasik patients can expect.
Come
see the office and meet the staff.
We can asses your vision and discuss one
to one your vision goals.
You will have a chance to meet and ask
Dr. Mutyala your questions or concerns.
See if our laser center is right for you
with out any obligation or pressure.
Once you have
decided to have laser surgery, you may stay for
a complete eye exam.
During your exam we will carefully
measure your prescription before and after we
dilate your eyes.
The exam will determine if your eyes are
healthy and that you are an excellent candidate
for laser surgery.
Dr. Mutyala will discuss the risks and
benefits to laser surgery as it pertains to your
eyes.
You
may then schedule laser surgery anytime
afterwards at your convenience.
On the day of your surgery, Dr. Mutyala
will go over what you can expect during the
procedure and answer any questions you may still
have.
You
will have a choice to take a small Valium to
help you relax, and are then taken to the laser
suite.
Dr. Mutyala
uses a lid holder so that you will keep from
blinking. Your vision goes dark for about 10
seconds when
Dr. Mutyala creates the flap with
the microkeratome.
Once this is done,
you are asked to look
up at a blinking green light while Dr. Mutyala
does the laser treatment which only takes 30 to
60 seconds.
The flap is then returned to it’s
original position, and starts to heal without
the need for any sutures.
The surgery takes about 10 minutes total
and Dr. Mutyala talks to you through the whole
procedure.
Most people mention to us how there is no
pain and how quickly it goes by.
When you sit up
after your surgery you should be able to see the
clock on the wall and see people’s faces more
clearly then before you walked into the laser
room. The
vision is still slightly foggy but continues to
improve every hour.
After the
procedure, antibiotic drops are placed in your
eyes and are instructed to use antibiotic drops
for the next week, and frequent artificial
tears
for a month.
We recommend that you take a 4-hour nap
immediately after your surgery.
Take it easy the first week- no
exercising, no swimming, no rubbing the eyes and
no eye make-up.
Dr. Mutyala
will see you the next day to make sure
everything is perfect.
If you feel comfortable with your vision,
you may be able to drive to your appointment
without glasses for the first time in your life.
Most of our
patients are referred to us by other happy
patients. This is a great indication of just
how satisfied our patients are with their
results.
We offer free
personal consultations
at Weston
Laser Vision Institute, so you can discover for
yourself if laser vision correction can help you
see more clearly.
If you are ready now,
call to schedule a complete vision exam.
